Next to the S-meter is a switch to
choose between the 2 meter
transverter or normal short wave use.
The
transverter is not a Heathkit
but it could as well have been a Heathkit
though it is designed and constructed
in the spirit of Heathkit and it is also fit in a HW-101
chassis.
The transverter output stage is equipped with a QQE06/40 tube and the
driver tube is the QQE03/12 type. It should be capable to deliver
approximately 100W but lack of documentation makes alignment and use a bit unsertain. Thanks to
SMØAOM Karl-Arne Markstrom, I now have some limited
documentation though. The low power
transverter circuitry was
designed by the Danish radio amateur OZ9SW Jørgen
Brandi. The power amplifier
is of unknown origin.
